Women’s Golf Wraps Up Play In Huntsville Tuesday Afternoon

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Texas Southern women’s golf team concluded their final round of play in the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Women’s Invitational on Tuesday.

Senior Rev Alcantara was the top finisher for the Lady Tigers with a final score of 8-over score of 80. Freshman, Lyla Vaugh had a two-shot improvement in her final round also carding 8-over. Teammate A’Marie Smith had a seven-shot improvement.

“I am hopeful that we had a breakthrough during this tournament,” Texas Southern University head golf coach, Dr. Gary Grandison said. “We now have to prepare for championship season.”

The Lady Tigers return to tournament play April 12-14 at the Women’s National Collegiate in Pine Mountain, Ga. and will be playing at the Callaway Gardens Resort.
