Williams Sets Personal Best Mark At NCAA Preliminary West Round

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – TSU sophomore Chadrick Williams closed out the 2021 season on a positive note as he set a personal best mark in the triple jump at the NCAA Preliminary West Round on Friday.

Participating in his first regional event, Williams fouled on his first two attempts but rebounded to jump 49-10½ on his third and final attempt. After landing the jump, Williams, who ends the season with the top mark in the SWAC, jumped up the leaderboard quickly before waiting until the other flights ended.

Head coach Clyde Duncan, Sr. and long jumper Kenneth Pree are back on the grind next week as Pree will have a week to prepare for the 2021 Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon at historic Hayward Field. Pree will compete on Wednesday, June 9 at 8:30 p.m. CST.
