Washington, Williams Post Top 4 Finishes At Texas A&M
COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Brandon Washington and Chadrick Williams had top-four finishes while the TSU men’s track & field team had eight top-10 finishes amongst a competitive field at the 44 Farms Team Invitational at Texas A&M.
Washington placed fourth in the 800 as he completed the run in 1:53.92. Brian Martinez placed ninth in the 3,000-meer steeplechase and posted the seventh-best time in the SWAC as he ran a personal-best time of 10:22.61. Malachi Byrd ran the eighth-best time in the SWAC as he posted a time of 14.99 in the 110-meter hurdles. The mile relay team closed out the sprints as they finished third after a run of 3:14.37.
Adedeji Adeyeye finished fifth in the high jump after a mark of 6-3½ followed by a seventh-place finish from Juston Thompson (6-1½). Donyae Castaneda, placed seventh in the long jump as he jumped 22-8.
Chadrick Williams finished third in the triple jump as he recorded a length of 49-8¼ followed by Christian Lewis’ 46-¾ mark which was good for ninth.
TSU is back in action in two weeks at the Rice University J. Fred Duckett Twilight on April 23.
