Volleyball announces 2019 camp dates

HOUSTON – The Texas Southern volleyball program will hold three camps this summer inside the H&PE Arena on the TSU campus. Camps are scheduled for June 17-20 (All Skills Camp), June 24-26 (High School Girls Team Camp) and July 15-18 (Advanced Skills Camp).

Head coach Jocelyn Adams and staff will open camp season with the All Skills Camp from June 17-20. The camp is designed for athletes focusing on fundamental and position skills of the game. Athletes will be drilled in all facets (passing, setting, attacking, blocking, serving and individual defense) of the game along with the introduction of basic offensive and defensive systems through team play. The camp is open to youth (boys and girls) ages 9-14 and will run from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. daily. The cost for the camp is $175 and includes a snack.

The Team Camp (June 24-26) is a training and teaching camp for high school (grades 9-12) girls teams and its coaches. Each team must have a minimum of 10 players (max 12) and may be accompanied by one coach with no charge. If a team desires additional coaches to participate, a fee of $75 per coach will be applied. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. daily and conclude at 1 p.m. as the cost is $100 per player. Teams of all levels are welcomed as the amount of teams participating will be limited.

Camp season concludes in July with the Advanced Skills Camp (July 15-18). This camp will focus on individual fundamentals and position skills at a higher level in addition to team play. The camp is open to youth (boys and girls) ages 15-18 and will run from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. daily. The cost for the camp is $175 and includes a snack.
