Vaughn Tied For 2nd After Day 1 Of Birmingham Invitational

Texas Southern sophomore Lyla Vaughn is tied second individually following the opening round of the Birmingham Invitational hosted by the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

Teammate Ashlie Hobbs is two strokes back in fourth place.

“I will observe our golfers’ responses tomorrow after having a tough round,” Texas Southern University head golf coach Dr. Gary Grandison said.

Overall, TSU sits in second heading into the final round as they’re three strokes behind Alabama State.

“We will learn from this tournament”, Dr. Grandison concluded.

The Tigers conclude their efforts during the final round of the Birmingham Invitational on Tuesday at 9 a.m. on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail – Oxmoor Valley Ridge Course.
