TSU Volleyball Returns To The Court
“I think the first day went well,” said Austin. “We’re going to have the girls go a little longer for some technical and individual work. Honestly, getting everyone together and getting them on the court has been pretty smooth.”
TSU returns 13 student-athletes from last year and added five newcomers during the offseason. Even though Austin has had little time to spend with the team due to the timing of her hire, she is pleased with the way the team has bonded over the summer through conditioning work and team bonding outings.
“Even though I started in April, I had one week with the girls and was able to set ground rules,” she said. “They carried the rules over form the offseason to now and having them here in the summer definitely helped.”
The team will have two weeks of camp before school starts on Aug. 22 with the first regular season game at Incarnate Word on Aug. 26. The 2022 edition of the TSU volleyball team will make their season debut with the maroon & gray scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m inside the TSU Student Recreation Center.
