TSU Men’s Basketball Ranks 9th Nationally In Number Of Wins Since March 2010

With March Madness starting up, Texas Southern men’s basketball takes on a whole new meaning in the month as TSU ranks ninth with 48 victories in the month of March since 2010 in a stat provided by Fox College Hoops.

TSU has 48 total wins entering the month since 2010 and sits in elite company as TSU is currently ahead of current Gonzaga with 47 while Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina, Oregon, Duke, Michigan State, Michigan and San Diego round out the list. Ironically, TSU has played nearly every team on the list with the exception of Michigan. Since 2010, TSU has been led by three head coaches and all has experienced some type of postseason success in March.

Since the month of March has begun, TSU is already 3-0. The goal for the end of the week is three more wins as the SWAC Tournament kicks off Thursday afternoon in Birmingham, Ala.

“It’s an honor to be included on a list which shows the nation the type of program that has been built and is being sustained at Texas Southern,” said Vice President of Intercollegiate Athletics Kevin Granger. “I want to commend everyone from the coaches involved, support staffs and lastly, the student-athletes as this is an accomplishment that’s not easy. Winning in the month of March takes a lot of patience, endurance and hard work. The standard here has been set and we’ll continue to build on it.”
