Tigers Fall At Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas took control of the contest early in the first half and never looked back as they handed TSU an 82-51 loss Tuesday night at Bud Walton Arena.

The Razorbacks turned a six-point lead five minutes into the contest into a 10-point lead with 14:11 left. Eden Ewing’s dunk brought the deficit down to single digits but Arkansas answered on the next possession for a 17-7 lead. Chris Baldwin’s jumper moved TSU to within 18-9 but that would be the last time TSU would see a single digit deficit as Arkansas went on a 10-1 run to lead 28-10 with 8:10 remaining. The Tigers would draw no closer than 13 the remainder of the half as the Razorbacks claimed a 37-24 halftime lead.

John Jones’ jumper early in the second half would be the closest TSU would get to Arkansas as they went on a 14-0 run over the next three minutes to put the game out of reach.

Tyrik Armstrong led TSU with 15 points, five assists and three rebounds. Ewing and Ashton McClelland both tied for the team lead with six rebounds while Jethro Tshisumpa recorded four blocks.

The Tigers are back in action Saturday at Northern Kentucky. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
