Tigers Fall 1-0 In Physical Contest At Jackson State

JACKSON, Miss. – A first half goal by Jackson State was the difference as Texas Southern dropped a 1-0 decision Sunday afternoon.

Jackson State scored the game’s lone goal in the 11th minute as the contest was a physical one from the opening whistle with a combined 13 fouls in the first half. Jada MacLean recorded both shots for TSU in the half with attempts in the 35th and 44th minute, respectively.

The Tigers turned up their aggression on the offensive end in the second half with a shot attempt in the first three minutes of the half. TSU would have five more shot attempts in the half as a penalty shot by Bailey Blalock was saved by JSU in the 62nd minute along with attempts from Cassandra Sandoval, Alexis Luna and two from Begona Rodriguez-Bravo.

TSU returns to action next weekend in the state of Alabama as they’ll face Alabama State on Friday in Montgomery, Ala. (6 p.m.) and Alabama A&M Sunday in Huntsville, Ala. at 1 p.m.
