Tigers defeated at LSU

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Tigers of Texas Southern University concluded a stretch of playing two ranked opponents in two days Wednesday as they fell 16-5 at LSU.
 
Christian Sanchez’s two-RBI double in the top of the third inning cut LSU’s lead to 6-2. Ryan Diaz, Olajide Oloruntimilehin, and Victor Cruz also knocked RBIs for Texas Southern.
 
Chris Suarez was the pitcher of record for TSU. The visitors’ Alex Carrillo tossed one and two-thirds innings of scoreless relief, striking out one batter.
 
LSU entered Wednesday’s game ranked No. 12 in the nation. The Tigers visited Texas on Tuesday, which was ranked No. 10 at game time.
 
The Tigers of TSU make their home debut Friday when they open a three-game series with Southwestern Athletic Conference rival Southern. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
