Tigers Baseball Falls 5-3 to Southeastern Louisiana
HAMMONDS, LA – Texas Southern made a run, but fell a little short in their come-from-behind attempt against Southeastern Louisiana.
The Tigers held Southeastern to four scoreless innings. The tide changed when a TSU error turned a single into extra bases. That mistake gave Southeastern some momentum in the 5th inning. They scored five runs for a 5-0 lead.
Texas Southern held them after that, but struggled to get a rally going of their own until the 8th inning. Sebastian Stargell gave the Tigers their first run when he doubled to left field. DeāMario Thibodeaux kept the runs going with an RBI single down the right side. Stargell got on the board when he scored on a pick-off error by the pitcher. TSU got three runs but that was as close as they got. The Tigers fell 5-3.
Texas Southern had seven hits, two errors and eight left on base Stargell and Thibodeaux each had one RBI. Felix Gomez got the start and picked up the loss after 4.2 innings on the mound with five earned runs and no strikeouts.
