SULLIVAN POSTS EVEN-PAR OPENING ROUND, MEN’S GOLF IN 2ND AFTER DAY 1 OF SWAC CHAMPIONSHIP

FLOWOOD, Miss. – The Texas Southern University men’s golf team is tied for second place following the opening round of the 2023 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championships.
 
Sophomore Joel Sullivan leads the way for the Tigers with his even-par, 72 first round. Sullivan’s scorecard included an eagle, two birdies, and 11 pars to position him tied for fifth place.
 
Sophomore Caden Holmes is one stroke back with his one-over 73 round and tied in seventh place. Freshman Owen Walsh and sophomore Kci Lindskog are tied for 14th place with their 3-over, 75. Senior Devansh Chada was one stroke back with a 76.
 
The competing teams are playing at the Refuge Golf Club, a 6,894-yard par-72 championship course. The Tigers tee up for the second round of the SWAC Championships Tuesday morning with an 8 a.m. start.
