Soccer Releases 9-Game Spring Schedule

The Texas Southern soccer team returns to the field for a nine-match conference schedule beginning on Feb. 26, 2021.

The schedule features an odd twist as TSU opens up with four consecutive road matches followed by an open weekend in March. The team returns to the field after the open week with five consecutive home matches to close out the 2021 spring season.

Second-year head coach Lindsay Vera opens up the season at Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Friday, Feb. 26 followed by a trip south at Grambling State on Sunday, Feb. 28. The Tigers will wrap up their road schedule in the state of Mississippi one week later with matches at Mississippi Valley State on Friday, March 5 and Alcorn State on Sunday, March 7.

After an open weekend on March 12-14, TSU returns home to Alexander Durley Stadium for a five-game homestand which begins on Friday, March 19 and Sunday, March 21 versus Jackson State and Southern, respectively. Alabama A&M and Alabama State make the trek to Houston on Friday, March 26 and Sunday, March 28 before the season finale against SWAC rival Prairie view A&M on Friday, April 2.

The 2021 SWAC Soccer Tournament will take place at Prairie View A&M from April 8-11.

All contests are subject to change as the SWAC and Texas Southern University will remain prepared to make any necessary adjustments identified to be in the best interest of the health, safety and wellness of its student-athletes.
