Soccer Draws Alabama State In First Round Of SWAC Tournament Thursday Afternoon

The Texas Southern soccer team opens SWAC Tournament play on Thursday, Nov. 4 against Alabama State at 2 p.m. inside the Prairie View A&M Soccer Complex.

TSU was seeded fifth after the regular season and will open play against the fourth-seeded Hornets. ASU won the regular season matchup by a 1-0 margin in Montgomery as the teams have split the past four games. Both teams have met in postseason play three times since 2015 with the last contest in 2017 as ASU advanced on penalty kicks. 

The Tigers are coming off an emotional 1-0 win over top-seeded Prairie View A&M on Friday and will look to build off the momentum.
