Smith Currently 4th Overall After Round 1 Of SWAC Women’s Golf Championship

ALEXANDRIA, La. – Freshman A’marie Smith sits at the top of the leaderboard for The Texas Southern University women’s golf team after Monday’s opening round of the 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championship at Oakwing Golf Club.

Smith is tied in 4th place individually while senior Rev Alcantara is tied in 7th place.

“I am pleased with some significant improvements from the women’s golf program,” TSU head golf coach Dr. Gary Grandison said. “We must play comfortable but focused during the final round.”

The Lady Tigers conclude their efforts in the final round of the 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference Golf Championships Tuesday. Oak Wing Golf Club is playing at 5,819 yards from the women’s tee and the last round will tee off at 8 a.m.
