Salak Closes Out SWAC West Bowling Round-Up With Strong Performance

DALLAS – Texas Southern closed out the SWAC West Round-Up with a 1-3 mark on Sunday at USA Bowl.

TSU opened the finale with a 904-840 loss to Jackson State but rebounded to claim a 910-715 win against Alabama A&M as Taylor Krings bowled a 223 followed by Summer Salak’s 200. The Tigers had first-place Alabama State on the ropes in their third match of the day as Salak bowled a 215 but dropped a heartbreaker by a score of 913-883. The Tigers closed out the round-up with an 878-812 loss to Southern.

Salak finished the round-up ranked fourth overall as she averaged 182.57. Samantha Kriner finished second on the team and 16th overall with an average of 174.71. TSU currently holds a 5-7 SWAC mark and is in fifth place as All-SWAC honors and the regular season standings will be finalized after the SWAC East Round-Up the weekend of Feb. 7 in D’Iberville, Miss.
