The Texas Southern soccer team prepares for two consecutive weekends of home matches as the four-match swing kicks off tonight against Grambling State at the Campbell Road Sports Park.
“Coming off the games we had in Alabama, we’re ready for another chance to perform,” TSU head soccer coach Lindsay Vera said. “We have seen more consistency in our build-up from the back, the connection in the middle, and our effort to get into the final third of the field.”
The Tigers concluded their weekend in Alabama with a 2-0 loss against Alabama A&M on Sunday. They persevered offensively as they had 11 shot attempts with five of them being on goal. On the defensive side, Oriana Palacios had one save while Alexis Espino posted two saves.
“The missing pieces will be in place for Grambling,” Vera concluded.
The kickoff for Friday’s match against Grambling State is at 7 p.m. at the Campbell Road Sports Park. The facility is located at 3601 Campbell Road in Houston on the west side of town.
Sunday’s match against Arkansas-Pine Bluff will be back on campus at Durley Stadium with a 1 p.m. start.
