Palacios Earns Preseason Soccer Honor

Senior goalie Oriana Palacios was named to the 2021 All-SWAC Preseason Second Team by the league’s head soccer coaches and sports information directors.

A senior from Caracas, Venezuela, Palacios ranked second in the SWAC with 7.2 saves per game and fourth in shutouts per game during the past spring season. She also ranked second in the league with 58 saves while also finishing with three of the top single game performances in saves, including 13 against Prairie View A&M and 11 versus Grambling State.

Palacios and TSU opens the 2021 season next Thursday against ULM at Houston Sports Park with a 7 p.m. first kick.
