Naranjo Leads Lady Tigers in First Day of SWAC Track and Field Championships
BIRMINGHAM, AL – Texas Southern’s distance runner, Laura Naranjo, helped get the Lady Tigers on the scoreboard on the first day of the SWAC Indoor Track and Field Championship meet. Naranjo took 8th place in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:59.32 which gave TSU its first point of the meet.
Naranjo and her teammates on the distance medley relay team (Laura Naranjo, Bri’Antrya Leonard, Whitney McDonald, Andrea Brown) then took 4th place with a time of 13:07.38. That finished earned TSU 5 points.
The Lady Tigers look to make up ground in the running events on Sunday, the final day of the championship tournament.
