Men’s Track Trio Posts SWAC-Best Marks

Kenneth White, Jose Gonzalez and Kenneth Pree moved to the top of the SWAC in their respective events after participating in the J. Fred Duckett Twilight Meet on Saturday evening.

White placed fourth in the 400 with a time of 47.25 which also marked a career best for the senior. Gonzalez also ran a career-best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase as his time of 9:42.92 moved him the top of the SWAC. In that event, the Tigers have created quality competition amongst themselves as three of the top times in the SWAC are by TSU runners.

Pree placed fourth in the long jump as he recorded a mark of 24-9. Pree would foul on his first attempt but made it count when needed as he logged the mark on his third and final attempt. Christian Lewis moved up to fourth in the SWAC in the triple jump after placing fourth in the with a mark of 46-10.75.

Kylan Wess and Brandon Washington moved up to 7-8, respectively in the SWAC after their performance in the 800. Bryan Clarke also moved up the ledger to sixth in the SWAC after a strong outing in the 400 hurdles.

TSU is back in action at the SWAC Championships on May 6 at Prairie View A&M.
