Men’s Track Rounds Into Form At Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Jose Gonzalez ran the SWAC’s fastest time in the mile this past weekend while competing at the Ted Nelson Invitational on the Texas A&M campus.

Gonzalez finished sixth overall with a time of 4:18.49 in the event while fellow distance runner Filmon Beyene ran a season-best time and the SWAC’s second-best time in the 3,000 (8:48.24).

Brandon Washington ran a personal best in the 800 as he placed fifth with a time of 1:56.76. Chadrick Williams had a strong weekend with a third-place finish (46-3.25) in the triple jump while placing sixth in the high jump (6-4.25). Antoine Greer recorded a sixth-place jump in the long jump as he logged a mark of 21-0.5.

The Tigers are back in action Jan. 31-Feb. 1 at the University of Houston for the Houston G5 & Super 22 Invitational.
