Men’s Golf Tee Up For TVA Union Invitational In Alabama

FLORENCE, Ala. – The Texas Southern University men’s golf team returns to action this week where they will compete in the TVA Union Invitational hosted by North Alabama.

“The team has been hard at work over the last few weeks,” Texas Southern University head golf coach Dr. Gary Grandison said. “We are improving as a team, and we are preparing for a tough course this week.”

At the 36th Annual HBCU College Invitational Golf Tournament, freshman William O’Conner was the top scorer for The Tigers with his 2-over round of 74 and finished 4-over par for the tournament.

“As this will be the final tournament for the men’s team this semester, we hope to end on a high note,” concluded Grandison.

The tournament is scheduled to be held at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club in Florence, Ala. It will be a 54-hole format teeing up with a 36-hole round on day Monday and the final round on Tuesday.
