Men’s Golf In 9th After Day 1 Of Competition

DIAMONDHEAD, Miss. – The Texas Southern men’s golf team is in ninth place following the opening rounds of the Gulf Coast Collegiate hosted by Nicholls State University.

Sophomore Joel Sullivan leads the way for the Tigers after a 36-hole opening round of 152 (75-77) and is tied for 19th place individually. Freshman Owen Walsh is three shots behind with a day one total of 155 (80-75) as well as Caden Holmes 155 (78-77).

The competing teams are playing at The Pine Course of Diamondhead Country Club which is a 6,769-yard par-72 championship course. The final round of the tournament will commence with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
