Men’s Golf Fights Back In Round 2 Of Big Texan Invitational

KERRVILLE, Texas – Texas Southern University men’s golf returned to tournament play in the opening rounds of The Big Texan Invitational at Comanche Trace Golf Club on Monday.

With a day one total score of 148 (77-71), sophomore Devansh Chadha leads the way for the Tigers. Chadha posted an under-par second round that included four birdies and is currently tied 13th individually. Redshirt junior Landon Johnstone is one stroke behind with a 149 (76-73) total. Seniors, Grant Everson, and Tanner Skiles also had improved second-round postings of 74 and 75 respectively.

“Our team played solid golf in the second round,” Texas Southern head coach Dr. Gary Grandison said. “We recovered well in spurts and I am pleased with progress that we have made in a relatively short time period. We will leave it all on the course tomorrow.”

Texas Southern University tees up for the final round of play on Tuesday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
