Men’s Golf Concludes Play At HBCU College Invitational

NEWNAN, Ga. – The Texas Southern University men’s golf team concluded their run at the 36th Annual HBCU College Invitational Golf Tournament Saturday.

Freshman William O’Conner was the top scorer for The Tigers with his 2-over round of 74 and finished 4-over par for the tournament.  Junior Devansh Chadha had a 3-shot improvement from his first round.

“We had great learning experiences as a program,” Texas Southern University head golf coach Dr. Gary Grandison said. “The team is playing better with a significant upside.”

The Tigers will be back in action Oct. 17-19 when they compete in the TVA Credit Union Invitational hosted by North Alabama.

The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. (Hall of Fame) hosted this 36th Annual HBCU College Invitational Golf Tournament, presented by Farmers Insurance. The tournament is one of the largest NCAA sanctioned collegiate tournaments which attracts the top Division I and Division II HBCU golf teams. The Hall of Fame works with the Black College Golf Coaches Association to help increase opportunities for competition and exposure for HBCU Golf programs.
