Johnson Named SWAC Co-Newcomer of the Week

Texas Southern quarterback De’Andre Johnson was named the SWAC’s Co-Newcomer of the Week after his performance at Grambling State this past weekend.

The 6-2, 205-pound graduate student from Jacksonville, Fla. had a complete game Saturday as he passed for 351 yards on 21-of-40 passing with a touchdown. Johnson also rushed for 133 yards on 21 attempts with a touchdown.

Johnson and the Tigers are back in action this weekend at home versus Alabama State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at BBVA Stadium as the Tigers will honor their senior class prior to the contest.
