Football To Host Grambling State For Senior Day Saturday Night

closes out its home schedule Saturday night against Grambling State at 6 p.m. inside PNC Stadium.

• Texas Southern will honor 14 seniors prior to pregame. Seniors who will honored include Demontario Anderson, Rudy Anderson, Drake Centers, Isaiah Chance, Tarik Cooper, Dominic Franklin, Raheme Fuller, Caleb Hall, Kevin Harris, Osby Mitchell, Alijah Muhammad, Derrick Tucker, Cedrick Williams and Jarvis Williams.

• Saturday's contest will feature live audio on 90.9 FM and will be shown live on ESPN+.

• Grambling State returns to Houston for the first time since 2018. 's last win over GSU in Houston was in 2012.

• Led by first-year head coach Hue Jackson, GSU struggled early on but has began to find its stride with a two-game winning streak which has featured them scoring 30-plus points while allowing no more than 10 points in both games.

• Grambling State holds a seven-game winning streak over TSU with TSU's last win in 2013 at Grambling.

• Both teams rank top six in scoring amongst SWAC teams as No. 6 TSU averages 24.6 points while No. 4 GSU averages 25 points.

• The Tigers feature fourth-year head coach Clarence McKinney. A Houston native, McKinney attended high school across the street at Jack Yates High School and played collegiately at Montana State and the University of Mary. He also served as head coach at Yates before joining the staffs at Houston, Texas A&M and Arizona.

• Clarence McKinney is the 17th head coach in the history of Texas Southern . McKinney has a task ahead as the program has only had 28 winning seasons in 76 years of existence and hasn't recorded a winning season since 2000.

• McKinney won as a student at Yates High School and helped the University of Mary post three winning seasons as a student-athlete in college which made school history. As head coach at Yates, McKinney posted a mark of 30-8 over three years before moving on to the collegiate ranks as an assistant. As an assistant at Houston, Texas A&M and Arizona, McKinney has only experienced three losing seasons in his 11 years of collegiate coaching.
