Everson Moves Up The Leaderboard Heading Into Final Round Of SWAC Championship

ALEXANDRIA, La. – Senior Grant Everson moved up three spots to fifth-place after day two of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Golf Championship on Tuesday.

Everson had a four-shot improvement in his second round where he posted a 1-over 73 at OakWing Golf Club. Teammate, Deavnsh Chadha moved up to ninth place after his 2-over round of 74. After two days of action, Everson is only two stokes from third place as a strong round on Wednesday could propel him up the ladder.

As a team, TSU is now in fourth following the second round of the tournament.

“There were improvements today,” Texas Southern University head golf coach Dr. Gary Grandison said. “We are preparing for tomorrow’s final round.”

The Tigers conclude their efforts in the final round of the 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference Golf Championships Wednesday morning with an 8 a.m. tee time.
