Bridges Named SWAC Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Texas Southern’s Ataiya Bridges its SWAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after consecutive notable outings this past week.

The junior guard from Lanett, Ala. native averaged 20.5 points, three rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals in helping Texas Southern split with Jackson State and Grambling State over the weekend. Bridges scored 26 points in a starting role versus JSU before scoring 15 points off the bench against Grambling State in 28 minutes of action. 

This marks the second time in three weeks Bridges has earned the league’s weekly honor.
