Bridges Named SWAC Co-Player Of The Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southwestern Athletic Conference has named Texas Southern women’s basketball junior guard Ataiya Bridges its Co-Women’s Basketball Player of the Week after her impressive outings this past week.

The Lanett, Ala. native continued to shine in her role off the bench for Texas Southern. Bridges averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, three assists and three steals to help the Tigers go 2-0 for the week in road wins over Alabama A&M and Alabama State. She scored 13 points and eight rebounds on Saturday while sealing the win down the stretch after shooting 6-for-6 from the free throw line. On Monday night, Bridges scored 14 points and dished out three assists and three steals in the win over Alabama State.
