Bowling Closes Out Fall Semester With Solid Outing At Home

The Texas Southern bowling team had a strong performance in its backyard at the annual Track Kat Klash at Emerald Bowl in Houston.
 
TSU opened day one with a 1-4 mark in Baker play as they fell to Central Missouri, North Carolina A&T State, Delaware State and Monmouth while defeating Lewis University 960-869.
 
On day two, the Tigers opened Traditional play with a 962-766 win over Alabama-Birmingham followed by another win (930-767) over Upper Iowa. The Tigers had solid outings in their final matches but fell to Maryland Eastern Shore, Maryville and McKendree.
 
TSU opened Sunday’s bracket play with a 4-1 loss to Monmouth and a 4-2 loss to Lewis. The team closed out the tournament on a solid note as they came back to defeat UAB 4-2.
 
Cassie De La Fuente finished as TSU’s top bowler and 24th overall with a 199.8 average as she had three games in Traditional play with 200-plus pins. Evan Smith finished second on the team and 40th overall with a 189.2 average. Shyanne Ciesiolka (187.6), Payton Trevino (173.6) and Leya Parker (163.75) rounded out the top five performers for the team.
 
TSU has concluded it fall semester and returns to the lanes Jan. 8, 2023 at the Stormin’ Blue & White Vegas Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.
