Bowling Claims Big Win In Tournament Opener

The Texas Southern bowling team defeated the No. 2 team in the nation in the opening day of the Sam Houston State Track Kat Klash at Emerald Bowl.

The Tigers opened the day with three consecutive losses in Baker play to No. 6 Arkansas State (918-840), No. 14 Tulane (907-763), No. 17 Louisiana Tech (901-799) before rebounding to defeat No. 2 McKendree University 1,001-965 in the fourth match. The Tigers fell to No. 23 Youngstown State 894-796 in the final game of Baker play.

The team moves to traditional play Saturday morning as they’ll open with Prairie View A&M followed by No. 3 Stephen F. Austin, Alabama State, No. 4 Nebraska and No. 5 Sam Houston State.
