CONFERENCE NEWS & NOTES
• Alabama State University clinched the eastern division regular season title with a 3-2 victory over Alabama A&M at the Lockhart Gymnasium on Nov. 7
• Texas Southern University used a 3-0 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on 11/01 to claim the Western Division regular season title.
• Brooke Beasley from Alabama State was named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team. Beasley currently leads the Lady Hornets in assists with 546 averaging 4.7
• The last time both ASU and TSU won divisional champions took place in 1994. Texas Southern won the SWAC Tournamnet Championship. Alabama State has yet to win a SWAC Tournament Championship
• This week marks the last week of conference play before heading to the SWAC Tournament in Jackson, Miss. where eight teams will face-off to become the SWAC Volleyball Champion.
