BATON ROUGE, La.- The Texas Southern Tigers basketball team placed four players in double figures scoring but it wasn't enough as TSU dropped an 88-80 decision to LSU on Saturday.
Demontrae Jefferson and Zach Lofton led TSU all scorers with 18 points each. Derrick Griffin chipped in a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds while Marvin Jones added 10 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
The Tigers trailed 44-34 at halftime after shooting 40.6 percent from the field. The battle on the glass was close with LSU edging the Tigers in that category 38-36.
Texas Southern won't have long to rest before its next contest as the Tigers will travel to Fort Worth to face TCU on Sunday at 5:00 pm.
