TSUSports.com: Tigers fall to PVAMU 30-16 in season finale

HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers football team concluded their season on Saturday with a 30-16 loss at home to the Prairie View A&M Panthers.

TSU trailed 14-3 at halftime but cut the Panthers lead to five points at 14-9 after an Archie Rice 39-yard interception return for a touchdown in the second half.

Prairie View went on to score 16 straight points to push the lead back to double digits at 30-9.

Texas Southern running back Brad Woodard tallied the final score of the night on a 46-yard touchdown run which brought the score to 30-16 after a successful Aaron Cuevas extra point.

Woodard contributed a total of 86 yards on the ground as he averaged 5.7 yards per carry. Offensively the Tigers amassed 190 yards of total offense while PVAMU tallied 429 yard of total offense.

Julian Marcantel led all TSU defenders with 13 total tackles including one tackle for loss.

TSU finishes the 2017 season with a 2-9 overall record including a 2-5 mark in league play.
