TSUSports.com: Tigers Continue Busy Schedule At Alabama State Saturday Afternoon

• The TSU men’s basketball team looks to keep up its winning ways with the always-important Alabama swing which begins at Alabama State Saturday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

• Head Coach Johnny Jones is 4-1 lifetime against Alabama State.

• Head coach Johnny Jones is 82-73 all-time in the month of February and 16-5 at TSU.

• Alabama State opted out of a non-conference schedule and has played a SWAC only schedule. ASU has lost three of its past four as they are led by first-year head coach Mo Williams. They are led in scoring by Kenny Strawbridge’s 7.5 points while Brandon Battles follows with 7.4 points.

• TSU has dominated the series against Alabama State recently as the Tigers have won 20 of the past 22 match-ups. TSU’s loss at ASU last year ended a 15-game winning streak over the Hornets which dated back to Feb. 3, 2014.

• Junior forward Karl Nicholas has won back-to-back SWAC Impact Player of the Week honors. For the past three games, he’s averaging 15 points and 9.3 rebounds and has has brought much-needed energy to help TSU regain momentum when needed.
