HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers closed out the first half of league play with a convincing 97-82 win on the road versus Alabama State.
Donte Clark (pictured above) stole to show as he poured in a game high 30 points highlighted by a perfect 11-of-11 showing at the free throw line.
The contest was never in doubt as TSU took its largest lead of the game at 24 points at the 5:33 mark of the second half.
Derrick Bruce scored 25 points and Marquis Salmon added 17 and 14 rebounds as the Tigers improved to 6-3 in conference play.
The Tigers will now get set to begin the second half of SWAC action when they travel to face rival Prairie View A&M on Saturday, February 3 at 5:00 pm at the William Nicks Building located on the PVAMU campus.
