HOUSTON- The Texas Southern Tigers second half scoring outburst against Jackson State was able to give them an impressive 67-44 victory in front of a nationally televised audience.

The Tigers started out slow against Jackson State in the first half. TSU wasn't able to get its offense rolling while being held to 17 points in the first stanza. Luckily for the Tigers they went into intermission only trailing by one point.

Texas Southern was able to take momentum early in the second half with a 16-0 run. The Tigers scored a total of 50 points in the second half to help push them to their fifth consecutive win.

TSU's Zach Lofton led all scorers with 18 points while going 5-of-11 from the field while fellow teammate Marvin Jones tallied his second consecutive double-double with 13 points and 12 boards.

Texas Southern travels to face Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Mississippi Valley State on the road next week as they continue conference play.
