TSUSports.com: Men’s Golf Sits In 3rd After Day 1 Of Competition At HBCU College Invitational

NEWNAN, Ga. – The Texas Southern men’s golf team is currently tied in third place after the opening round of the 36th Annual HBCU College Invitational Golf Tournament.

Freshman Kci Lindskog leads the Tigers and is tied fifth individually after his 1-over par round of 73. Freshman William O’Conner is one stroke back with his 2-over round of 74 and is tied eighth individually.

“The team displayed bursts of potential throughout the round,” said head golf coach Dr. Gary Grandison said. “We have what it takes to compete on a championship level, so I am hopeful for a strong finish.”

Florida A&M is in first place with a team total of 298, Alabama State is one stroke back with 299, and Texas Southern and Tennessee State are tied for third with 302.

The Tigers conclude their efforts in the final round of the 36th Annual HBCU College Invitational Golf Tournament at the Summer Grove Golf Course Saturday morning with a 9 a.m. tee time.

The National Black College Alumni Hall of Fame Foundation, Inc. (Hall of Fame) is hosting the 36th Annual HBCU College Invitational Golf Tournament, presented by Farmers Insurance. The tournament is one of the largest NCAA sanctioned collegiate tournaments as the Hall of Fame works with the Black College Golf Coaches Association to help increase opportunities for competition and exposure for HBCU Golf programs.
