TSUSports.com: Men’s Golf Posts Program Tournament Low Scores, Lindskog Has Career Day

SUGAR LAND, Texas – The Texas Southern Men’s Golf Team fired up day 1 of the annual Colin Montgomerie – HCU 2024 Men’s Husky Invitational hosted by Houston Christian University by posting record-breaking scores for the golf program Monday.

The Tigers are in 10th place after finishing 2-over through a grueling 36-hole first day with three student-athletes posting under-par rounds.

Junior, Kci Lindskog is currently tied for third individually and leads the streak of Tigers following his 8-under-par opening rounds of 136 (69-67). Lindskog recorded a career-best, 5-under-par, 67 in his second round which included an eagle, seven birdies, eight pars, one drop, and a triple bogey. To say it was a suspense-filled round is an understatement. He is currently tied for second in for recorded birdies (12) for the tournament.

Sophomores Ravepon Kosalutta (74-71) and Darian Faust (71-74) are T-36th on one over. Kosalutta’s 1-under 71 was a collegiate-low score. Faust is currently tied for 11th in recorded birdies (10) for the tournament.

Junior Liam O’Rourke posted 154 (78-76) and freshman Matt Vanhoy is one stroke back on 155 (76-79).

The HCU 2024 Men’s Husky Invitational takes place at the Sweetwater Country Club on the Pecan Course. The tournament format is 54-holes including 36-holes on Monday and the final round the following day. Tuesday’s final round will be a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m.
