LORMAN, Miss. - A Jalan McCloud buzzer-beater helped to lift Texas Southern over Alcorn State 67-65 Monday night, giving the Tigers their first league win of the year.

In a back and forth game, Zach Lofton made a pair of free throws with 42 seconds left for a 65-63 TSU advantage. Marquis Vance tied it up for the Braves with a layup 20 seconds later.

Texas Southern (6-9, 0-1 SWAC) called timeout with 16 seconds left, and with two seconds on the clock, McCloud rebounded Demontrae Jefferson's missed shot and converted a layup for the win.

Lofton led all Texas Southern scorers with 23 points while Kevin Scott added 15 off the bench.
