Game Notes:

Turner for 3!
Marquia Turner leads the SWAC – and ranks 26th nationally – in 3-point shooting, having made 44.9 percent (35 of 78) of her long-range attempts. Her 12.8 points per game ranks fifth in the conference.

It's raining 3's! Hallelujah!
As Turner goes, so do the rest of the Lady Tigers, who lead the SWAC in 3-point shooting; TSU players have made 33 percent (75 of 227) of their 3-point attempts. Saturday, they'll face Prairie View A&M, the SWAC's best team at defending the 3-pointer. Lady Panther opponents have made only 27.7 percent (53 of 191) of their long-range shots.

Velez heating up
Richelle Velez has averaged 10.3 points per game since Dec. 20, when she reached double-figures for the first time in her TSU career with 18 points against Huston-Tillotson. She scored 10 points in each of TSU's first two conference games, which also marked the first two starts of her TSU career.

Cunningham to the basket
Over the last five games, Olivia Cunningham has scored in double-figures in four of those contests, and averaged 11.4 points per contest, second only to Niya Mitchell (11.8 ppg) during that span. Cunningham's 52.1 shooting percentage (25 of 48) over the last five games leads the Lady Tigers.

Lady Tigers vs. Prairie View A&M
The Lady Tigers are 41-35 against Prairie View A&M since the start of the NCAA's women's basketball era in 1981. TSU has won six of the last 10 games, though PV is on a two-game winning streak after sweeping the season series in 2018.
