TSUSports.com: Lady Tigers set for rematch against Grambling State

HOUSTON – The Lady Tigers of Texas Southern University will aim for their third consecutive victory and sixth in the last seven games when they visit Grambling State on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The game will provide a chance for the Lady Tigers (10-11, 6-4 SWAC) to avenge their 75-67 loss at home to Grambling State last month.

The Lady Tigers lead the SWAC in scoring defense, giving up an average of 61.1 points per game. Against SWAC opponents, TSU gives up only 58.0 points per game, which also leads the conference.

Double-double Mitchell Mitchell
Niya Mitchell has recorded six double-doubles in TSU's 10 conference games this season. In SWAC play, she averages 14.9 points and a conference-best 12.3 rebounds per game.

On the road with the Lady Tigers
Texas Southern has won three consecutive conference road games, and are 3-2 overall on the road against SWAC opponents. Niya Mitchell averages 13.4 points and 12.8 rebounds per game during conference road games, while Richelle Velez has averaged 11.4 points and shot 43.2 percent (16 of 37) from 3-point range in such games.

Turner back in the rotation
Graduate transfer Marquia Turner returned to the lineup Saturday against Prairie View A&M after a three-game absence. Against the Lady Panthers, Turner came off the bench to score 15 points on 5-of-14 shooting, while going 5-for-6 at the free throw line.
