JACKSON, Miss. – The Lady Tigers of Texas Southern University remained undefeated in Southwestern Athletic Conference play after drawing 1-1 at Jackson State on Sunday afternoon.

Janelle Gore's first goal of the season helped the Lady Tigers (2-4-2, 1-0-1 SWAC) pull level with their hosts and salvage a point on the SWAC table from Sunday's contest. Gore's equalizer in the 43rd minute off a pass from Alexia Ladipo came barely a minute after JSU's Ariel Vinson put the hosts on the scoreboard.

TSU goalkeeper Tammy Syron made 10 saves for the visiting Lady Tigers in the contest, including two saves in each overtime period. Her Jackson State counterpart, Faith Toennies, made 13 saves in the match.

Texas Southern controlled the pace of play in the second half, but could not find the go-ahead goal. The Lady Tigers outshot JSU 8-2 in the second half, and held 11-0 advantage in corner kicks after halftime.

The physical contest included six yellow cards, with four of those cautions going to Jackson State. The hosts were called for 17 fouls Sunday, as compared to seven for TSU.

Jackson State (1-6-1) also moved to 1-0-1 in SWAC play.

TSU's Lady Tigers head to Alabama for their next couple of matches. TSU visits Alabama State on Friday, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
