HOUSTON – The Lady Tigers of Texas Southern University open a three-game homestand Saturday when they welcome Alabama State to the Health & Physical Education Arena.

TSU (8-10, 4-3 SWAC) enters the game with a three-game winning streak. Alabama State (6-12) had a rough start to the season, but have rebounded in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, where they are 5-2.

High-flying Lady Tigers
The Lady Tigers rank third in the Southwestern Athletic Conference in scoring, averaging 61.2 points per game. They also allow the second-fewest points per game in the SWAC, holding opponents to 61.8 points per contest.

It's raining 3's! Hallelujah!
The Lady Tigers are the best 3-point shooting team in the SWAC, having made 33.0 percent (99 of 300) of their long-range attempts. Marquia Turner shoots 41.3 percent (38 of 92) from 3-point range, while Richelle Velez shoots 34.3 percent (36 of 105) from behind the arc.

Olivia Cunningham has turned in three strong performances in all three games during TSU's current winning streak. Over the past three games, Cunningham has averaged 15.7 points per game and shot 69.0 percent (20 of 29) from the floor.

The comforts of home
Niya Turner averages close to a double-double per game at home, averaging 17.3 points and 9.8 rebounds per home contest. The 17.3 points per game is almost four points above her overall season average. Richelle Velez averages 11.8 points per home game (a jump of 4.3 points per game from her season average) and shoots 48.1 percent from 3-point range (13 of 27) at H&PE Arena.
