HOUSTON- Texas Southern University Athletics has announced that the upcoming Labor Day Classic featuring TSU and Prairie View A&M initially scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 2 has been postponed. All previously purchased tickets will be honored on the new date.
"It has been decided between both institutions that it is best interest of all parties involved that the Labor Day Classic football game be postponed and rescheduled for the weekend of Thanksgiving on an exact date that has not yet been determined," said TSU Vice President of Athletics Dr. Charles McClelland.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those that have been impacted by the severe weather and catastrophic flooding that has occurred over the past several days, and we thank everyone that sent well wishes and prayers on behalf of our band, student-athletes, and staff as they traveled back from Tallahassee, Florida this past weekend." added McClelland.
The XXXIII Annual Labor Day Classic set to be hosted at BBVA Compass Stadium will now be the season finale and final regular season contest for both programs.
