Baylor led from start-to-finish as they defeated TSU in the first-ever match-up between both teams.

The TSU defense had a solid opening drive but Baylor converted a pair of fourth down conversions with the latter leading to a touchdown from Abram Smith. TSU had a three-and-out on its first offensive possession and Baylor only needed one play to score as the offense completed a 48-yard touchdown pass to lead 14-0 after the PAT. After another TSU punt, Baylor answered with a five-play, 85-yrd drive which was capped off by Gerry Bohannan’s 7-yard scamper.

TSU switched quarterbacks on its third drive and began to move the ball as freshman Andrew Body ran for a first down and threw for one. However, the promising drive stalled on a 4th-and-1 as Baylor stopped TSU on its own 39. Baylor would add three more scores in the second quarter as they led 42-0 at the half.

The Tigers began to move the ball with more success in the second half as they had several drives deep into BU territory as both Jalen Brown and Body had promising drives under center. Jacorey Howard opened the quarter with a big run to move TSU to the BU 2 but a fourth down fumble was scooped up by Baylor and returned for a score. On the ensuing drive, TSU bounced back from the setback as Kevin Harris capped off an 11-play, 72-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run.

TSU finished with 281 yards offensively as Howard and Body had 68 and 67 yards, respectively. Julian Marcantel led TSU with six tackles.

TSU is back in action on Sept. 25 at Rice.
