HOUSTON – The Tigers of Texas Southern University scored 14 unanswered runs Saturday as they cruised to a 14-3 win in seven innings over Prairie View A&M.

The Tigers broke open what had been a close game with a nine-run sixth inning. The win was the fourth in five games for the Tigers over Prairie View A&M this season.

Texas Southern (14-29) improved to 10-10 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play. Prairie View A&M (16-28) fell to 8-11 in conference games.

Olajide Oloruntimilehin went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. He knocked a three-run home run – his 11th of the season – during TSU's big sixth inning.

Tyson Thompson went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. He tied the game in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run triple that scored Parker DeLeon and Alex Olguin. DeLeon and Christian Sanchez knocked two RBIs apiece in the game.

On the mound, Mason Furlong pitched a complete game for the Tigers, allowing runs only in the top of the fourth inning. Furlong struck out 10 batters and improved his record to 3-5 for the season.

The Tigers conclude their series against Prairie View A&M on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
