The TSU baseball team closed out its weekend series with a dominant doubleheader sweep over Arkansas Baptist.

TSU 12, ARKANSAS BAPTIST 2
Jaden Jones hit two of TSU’s four home runs as TSU scored 11 runs over the final three innings to defeat Arkansas Baptist.

Jones led the fourth off with a solo homer followed by Michael Goudeau’s double. An ABC error allowed Armendariz to reach base and Goudeau scored for a 3-2 lead. Several errors by ABC led to three more runs from TSU and a 6-2 lead.

Back-to-back homers from Jones and Goudeau to open the fifth pushed the lead to 8-2 while Chase Cromer scored the team’s ninth run after reaching base initially on a single.

TSU put the game away in the sixth as Noah Butler homered while Shannon Martin hit an RBI followed by a Justin Miller’s RBI on a fielder’s choice.
Jones went 3-for-4 with four runs and two RBIs while Cromer, Goudeau, CJ Castillo and Gabriel Vasquez had two hits. Domenic Martinez struck out eight in five innings for the win.
