TEXAS INVITATIONAL
The Longhorns welcome Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Mississippi and Texas Southern for the second weekend tournament being held at Red &
Charline McCombs Field this season. UT holds a 6-0 all-time record against the three teams in this weekend's tournament field.

MARY NUTTER CLASSIC RECAP
Texas is coming off a 2-3 showing at last weekend's Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. The Longhorns defeated Cal Poly and Fresno State, while
dropping contests to UNLV, No. 3/2 Washington and California.

STEPHENS IS SWINGIN' IT
Sophomore Lindsey Stephens went on an offensive tear last weekend at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. The Longhorn power hitter smashed a
home run in three-straight games, including a grand slam against Cal Poly. Through the five games out in Cathedral City, she hit .353 (6-for-17) and
drove in 11 RBIs, while slugging an impressive .941. Stephens has a team-high seven homers already in 2014 after having just one during her entire
rookie season (40 games). The UT outfielder also leads the Longhorns in doubles (3), RBIs (24), slugging percentage (.789) and total bases (42).
Stephens enters the upcoming weekend on an eight-game hitting streak.

SMITH SHOWS CONSISTENCY
Junior Gabby Smith leads the Texas pitching staff with a 5-1 record and 2.49 ERA in the circle. Over her last two outings, she owns a 0.00 ERA and
has thrown 10.0 straight scoreless innings, while allowing just two hits, three walks and striking out seven during that span. Last week at the Mary
Nutter Classic, she picked up wins against Cal Poly and Fresno State. Other than being shelled for seven runs in the fifth inning against Cal Poly,
Smith was on point for the rest of the weekend. Against Fresno State, she tossed a complete game, one-hit performance to give UT its first shutout
victory of the season. The next day, Smith was brought in for the final 3.0 innings against Cal, in which she allowed no runs and only gave up one
hit.

STATS OF NOTE

Since beginning varsity competition in 1997, UT has posted a 274-66-1 mark (.807 winning percentage) versus foes from Texas, including an 0-1 record in such games during the 2014 campaign.
